About
Ian founded Monte Carlo Capital in 2009, initially as an angel investor deploying his own capital. Before launching MCC he worked across Paris, London, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong at JPMorgan, UBS and HSBC, before becoming Regional Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets in Asia for Commerzbank - responsible for equity derivatives, credit, precious metals, foreign exchange and debt capital markets across the region, as well as the treasuries of Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. Winner of the 2019 EBAN Best European Angel Investor award, he serves on the board of EBAN and was an adjunct professor of venture capital and entrepreneurial finance at the International University of Monaco until 2021. Monte Carlo Capital invests at Seed - and selectively at Pre-Seed and Series A - in deep tech and tech-enabled companies across AI, SpaceTech, defense and the future of work, co-investing alongside the world's leading funds and accelerators and backing its strongest companies as they scale via SPVs. MCC has recently launched its second fund.
